Yes, I am finally back in Michigan. There are things that happened before I got here. Before the end of the semester, Mary and I found time to finish the third season of Scarecrow and Mrs. King. Let me just say, that whole season was a good one. Last year, when season two was released on dvd, Mary and I barreled through it in a matter of days. It was a great thing, but it was over way too fast. This time we decided to try and make it last. It took a lot of self restraint but we did it. We made it stretch over 3 months. It ended... well, we finally got what we wanted.
Let me introduce you to my new favorite bird, the blue footed booby...
Look at this guy! Look at 'em! The story is, I was studying for my biology final and my textbook mentioned something about these guys cause our final chapters were on evolution. These birds are really only found on the Galapagos islands. Their feet really are that striking of a blue color and they have an adorably lazy mating dance they go through before they find someone to mate. Anywho, I got really distracted from my studying that night and instead looked at these guys for hours. Now I tell anyone who listen about them. No-one wants to listen to me anymore.
Oh shoot- random, finally watching the opening ceremony of the Olympics and the poppy. I could write a whole book on my feelings about poppies and world war I. This opening ceremony is just brilliant! Brilliant, I tell you! Beautiful. So pretty.
Right, so finals happened. Did they? Well I know my final grades for the semester by now so yes, yes finals did go quite alright. I did panic a lot about them. I as sure I was about to die at any moment that week. I did make it though with all A's and B's, even in Chemistry which is a miracle considering I was not really doing much in the paying attention department the last month of school. I think my professor must have taken a lot of pity on me. What's done is done!
James Bond, Corgis and the Queen. Really, could this not get any better? And then there are people on the lions of Trafalgar square, le sigh. Sorry this is all gobbily gook, I keed getting distracted by the opening ceremonies. NBC needs to just learn to just shhhhh no-one needs their American commentary. Again, NBC, people are not stupid. Let people interpret the ceremony themselves. People are not stupid. You don't go to a play and have a person sit next to you very loudly explain what's going on the whole time. (okay, narrators don't count, you know what I mean) Okay, I'll stop ranting about the Olympics.
Right after finals, Ashleigh and I rushed off to Great Falls, Montana. I spent a week there and Montana really is beautiful. We went camping over the weekend in the little belt mountains(?) which was gorgeous and right before we went back to town, Kyle and I went on a hike that was pretty intense. At least, for me it was since I hike in Michigan usually... JK Rowling. Reading Alice in Wonderland. NBC WHAT ARE YOU DOING, WHY ARE YOU EXPLAINING WHO JK ROWLING IS? SHHHUUUUSHHHHHHHHHHH. But this mad hatter in the skates is pretty cool, why does that make me so happy? Sooo sorry. Okay, Mary Poppins, fighting Voldemort. Honestly, why am I in America and not London right now? Promise I'm done.
Right, other things I did while in Montana, we saw Batman: Dark Night Rises. It was very good. Very good, already seen it again kind of good where it only gets better. I dunno if you can say it's better than Avengers. They're two different kinds of superhero comic book movie. The week went by too fast and before I knew it, I was back in Michigan. I start back up working at the bar tomorrow. I've spent the last week, pretty much relaxing and not unpacking, spending time with friends. Tomorrow back to reality and real hard work.
Oh Mr. Bean, you adorable hilarious man. Back to post...
Oh, I guess I really don't have anything more to say! Well, obviously I don't have to mention how important the Olympics are to me so I'll continue to watch them by myself here.
