June 24, 2012

Monday night was the opening game for the Chukars, Idaho Fall's local baseball team. It's something that Mary and Em got me into last year and I am actually quite excited about it this year. We were able to trick convince our FHE group to go as activity this week. We would have gone to the game anyway but in this case, we aren't skipping. It was a lot of fun even though at first, it did not seem like the Chukars were going to win. It got late and quite cold so Kyle and I left before it was over but when we left, they were in the lead 11 to 8 and I heard later that they won 18 to something. So, go Chukars!

I thought, since I talked about it last week, that I would mention that I got an A on my genetics exam. It was one of those moments where you realize yeah, there is a reason why I'm going into this. Cause I'm freaking fantastic at it. I might have a little bit of a pride issue.

Do you see these? I am officially Hunter Educated and these licenses are for life. They never need to be renewed and they are valid in any state. Now, I could technically go hunting. Either win guns OR with a bow. Will I ever go hunting? I don't know. Probably not. Still, something pretty neat to have, right?

In other news, I am in a lot of pain right now. On Saturday, Kyle's ward had an activity where we volunteered at DI for an hour or so, organizing stuff and such and then went up to Snake River and floated down in tubes and rafts. I thought hey, it's not that bad, I don't need sun screen! I needed sunscreen. My shoulders are pretty red. Aloe is my new best friend and although the label says that I should only put it on four or five times a day, you better believe that I'm putting it on hourly. The River was a lot of fun though, and the burn was definitely worth it.

Spoils of DI, thanks to Kyle, an old classic Nintendo which included some pretty sweet games for only seven dollars. The Nintendo actually does not work. It turns on and then the light just flashes but we think we've figured out the problem and it shouldn't be too hard to fix. Once it's up and running, it's going to be pretty epic.
