April 29, 2012

Last Sunday it was a record high for April in Rexburg. It was over 85 degrees and sunny. It hasn't been that warm in April here in over 41 years. Yup, beautiful day, beautiful weather. Friday it snowed. I woke up Friday to inches of white fluffy stuff on my car and I frown on my face. It's been pretty chilly ever since then and I just want it on record that I do not appreciate it.

This week I had decided I need a hobby. My school work does not think this is a good idea but I need something to get good at? I don't know. Friday after a little melt down I had about getting things done and not having enough time and forgetting to do things, I just went to the store and bought a bunch of supplies. I am going to become a fantastic master sock monkey seamstress! I'm not just talking about regular sock monkeys (although, I do have stuff to make normal ones as well). I am talking about novelty sock monkeys. Like batman.

I know he doesn't look so grand. Practice makes perfect and I'm going to practice a lot. Plus, I got different black socks because I didn't like the way these ones stretched. Anyway, I have plans for a lot of different ones that includes superheroes and super villains. I might just might sell them once I feel confident enough. I just figure that at the moment I don't have a job and the job hunt is not going well so maybe people will want to buy these? My roommates have told me this is all a good idea so maybe they are correct? We shall see.

I made the most delicious scones this week with my friend, (turned roommate this semester) Ashleigh. These are seriously the most delicious things that I have eaten, maybe, probably. I would eat scones and tea for the rest of my life. Plus, I used fresh strawberries because the stores are suddenly full of them. I have more to make white chocolate strawberry muffins this week and last Sunday we had a barbecue in Porter Park and my contribution was chocolate covered strawberries.

Other exciting things about this week was Sarah asking me to illustrate the novel she is writing. I accepted even though the idea of it still terrifies me. She believes in me so I guess that's all that really matters.

It's funny because I was saying a few weeks ago that I wanted to write a bucket list, then in my business class our first assignment was to write a bucket list! We had to list 50 things we wanted to do with our lives and so here it is!

On another note, I got accepted to Western Michigan University. I'm weighing the pros and cons but there's a good chance that I might be perhaps wanting to go there? I don't know. I'm very confused at the moment. I have friends here and people I like. I hate moving and I know the campus here and I know how things work. I don't know Western, it's more expensive and I have no friends there and I would be going there all alone, starting from square one again. Overall though, I think I would be happy there. I get excited when I think about it and I've been doing research into the campus and the school. I have a lot of decisions to make.

Thursday, some friends and I went shooting. We had a few things we had gotten from D.I. as targets which included a furby. It was much fun and after some practice I did get a lot better at aiming and actually hitting the furby. He looks a lot more demonic now with tons of bullets in him than he did before, and I don't think I need to explain how demonic furby's look to begin with anyway!

I'm really excited for this week. Thursday night will be the Avengers! And then I'll be in Florida for the weekend! I have a lot to get done in order to not fall behind because of all this, especially since Jessica is going to be visiting me on Tuesday! I love May. May is always a lovely month and the most exciting things always happen to me in May. I can't wait for May to start. April was nice too though. Now I'm rambling and also saying the word May a lot. I think that's a sign that I should stop right here. Just for fun, some pictures of Evette I took from my trip down to California, I miss my sister and her. She was a lot of work but I do miss that little girl because she is adorable and precious.
