March 17, 2012

I guess I didn't really realize until this week how close to the end of the semester it really is. I about had a heart attack when Sabrina told me there was only three weeks left. Three weeks, really? Yes, Lisa, really. This semester has flown by and I'm not sure I'm ready for it to end. I'll be happy for it to be over but I have so much to do before the 5th of April. Classes are actually pretty stress free at the moment. Things have calmed down in most of them and so I think all the stress I'm feeling is self induced.

Even though I am completely awkward on the phone, I don't think I did too bad on my Disney Internship Phone Interview! That's right, I applied again this year for the Disney internship. I think everyone already knows how much I failed last year at that. I didn't even get passed the online interview before being told that I don't have the 'Disney Personality'. This year I made sure not to make the same mistakes and sure enough, I was 'a strong candidate'! I got to schedule a phone interview which was tonight. I was so nervous though, I was trying to get some school work done before the interview and it just wasn't happening. I probably scared my roommates because I would just constantly look up from my work to the clock and start hyperventilating. I only gave the interviewer a few stupid answers and hopefully she won't find them as stupid as I did. We shall see, fingers crossed!

I really wish I could redo my whole wardrobe. I kind of hate all my clothes, especially my pants and I just want clothes that fit well and actually kind of reflect who I am. I don't feel like my clothes do that. Of course this is just a paragraph I decided to write on a whim and I know that getting a new wardrobe is completely unrealistic and won't happen unless I fall into some big money. Does anyone know where I can fall into some big money, please?

I know I had already said what I signed up for classes wise next semester but I added another class to my schedule. Archery. Little fact, I sign up for archery every single flippin' semester. Another fun little fact, every single flippin' semester, I end up having to drop the archery class before classes even start. It always seems to conflict with a class that I really do need and is required. Since it's only one credit and doesn't go towards anything, it's always sacrificial. But I've always wanted to take it and I think it will be fun. I'll get to shoot stuff and goodness knows, I'm probably going to feel the need to shoot things next semester. It will be a good way to blow off some steam.

This week featured a few holidays, one of which was Pi Day. I think Pi day must be one of my favorite holidays ever. Any holiday that promotes the eating of pie is a good day to me. This year though, I didn't make a desert pie. I've been really good this week. My roommates have kind of banned me from baking. And it's not really banning because I agreed to it. It's just I end up making these things and they're delicious but we get all the left overs and none of us really need it and ugh food. Why does food have to be so good? Anywho, I only get to bake unless it's for a specific event and as long as we won't end up with the left overs. With that being said, this ban went into effect AFTER I made some chocolate chip cookie dough truffles.
I did have pie for pi day, do not fear! But it was a home made chicken pot pie and it was very delicious.

On Thursday, I went with friends to the Film Fest on campus. It was really good! There were some really great films. There were some really bad films. The film I voted for didn't win for people's choice but that's okay, almost everyone got a trophy (except for the two or three really bad ones that no-one wants to remember anyway). The whole thing has brought back my desire to do something film. I would love to submit something to a film fest. I would be a really big commitment but maybe if they do another one next semester, I'll make time for it. I'm sure I can make something at least a little better than those terrible ones. I just don't have a nice enough camera for it and I don't think my little camera is good enough. I'd need a real video recorder. Things to put on my future list.

Yesterday, there was this live game show that I went to. It was kind of ghetto because it's put together by students but gee, they did try hard, even when it started late because of technical difficulties. It was split into three parts, the first part was Who Wants to be a Millionaire but because of starting ten minutes late, they had to cut that section short and only one person got drawn to do it. He was also an idiot. I'm sorry, but who the heck doesn't know that Flamingos are pink because of the fish/shrimp they eat? Obviously he has never been to the zoo. Or maybe I'm the only one who pays attention to the little info planks at the zoo. This is all irrelevant though because the second part of the show was Family Feud. This was the whole reason we went to the the game thing. People could form their own groups to participate as families. We were let down though because as we got there, and tried to sign up, they told us that we were too late. That's alright though, they only had time to have one pair of families compete anyway so we probably wouldn't have been chosen for it anyway. The third part of the show was the Price is Right. The Price is Right is personally my favorite game show. Watching it in the morning with my Grandma will always be a good memory. Well, guess what? I got drawn and got to 'come on up to the Price is Right!' I had to guess the price of a laptop computer and everyone else was guessing 200-300 dollars. Right. Obviously they haven't bought a computer lately. Anywho, I got to play the one more or one less game to guess the price of a car! The first few numbers I pretty much did myself and/or listened to the crowd. The last few though, I listened to Em and the group. I got it all the digits right exactly and won a free membership to We Car which I don't exactly understand but it's pretty much like a car rental. I didn't make it on to showcase but that's okay the prizes were pretty much lame anyway; school merchandise and such. So I got to go sit down where I found out that Em had looked up the price of the car on her iphone while I was guessing! Haha good thing I started listening to them! Oh technology...

I imagine that this week will move just as fast as last week. Which means really freaking fast! It should be good though, the Hunger Games are coming out and Danielle has convinced me to buy tickets, not for midnight (because it was already all sold out) but for 2:30am. Yeah... that should be interesting, we'll see how that goes. Also this week the trailer for Prometheus came out and it looks so good. I'm really excited for that as well. Somehow I feel like this blog is really just about my opinion on movies. With that being said, I finally saw the Artist and it was absolutely fantastic and no wonder it won so many awards. I give all my props to Jean Dujardin, who I might be a little in love with now.
