Happy birthday to Jeff Bridges. He's now 62 years old, isn't that amazing?
Forever my spirit animal.
Might as well get the boring food stuff out of the way, shouldn't I?
Beginning of this week I made Grasshopper Brownie Bars and they were absolutely delicious.
Technically they're supposed to have creme de menthe in them but seeings as I'm not too keen on the whole alcohol thing, I made my own adapted version and they still tasted divine. Mostly I made them because I had mentioned at work to our bartender about all the baking I'd been doing and he got quite upset that I had never brought anything in to work for everyone to try. He requested brownies and I got really excited because I'd actually been looking to try this recipe out for a while. Any excuse will do, right?I can't express how happy I am that everyone at work loved them. My manager said it was one of the most delicious things that she'd ever had. So, pretty sure I got brownie points from her. Literally.
This is also an amazing thing because now I have an outlet for all this baking. I know it's been hard on my parents the last few weeks because we're supposed to be good. We have a diabetic in the house now, goodness gracious!
So instead I fatten up everyone at work. My mum was doing a cookie swap with her book club and needed cookies. Of course, I am ecstatic that she turned to me for help. I wanted something different than the usual sugar cookie topped with a chocolate Hershey's Kiss that is such the norm during the holidays. Instead I found these Oreo Cheesecake Cookies. Let's ignore the fact that in doing so, I also added 5 new food blogs to my follow list. I'm getting pretty pathetic, I must admit.Other than that, this week has been pretty bland. I've been sleeping a lot. And drinking a lot of orange juice. Yup, still sick. Still working. I apologize. I apologize to those that I work with. I apologize to those that I serve. I apologize to those reading this. I try to be as clean and as sanitary as possible but there's no way I can take work off. Yeah, technically I can call off but it's one of those things were just cause you can do it, doesn't mean you can really do it.
Thursday, though, I went to see a movie all on my own. It's only the second time in my entire life that I have done this. I went to go see Arthur Christmas because I really wanted to see it and it did not seem like anyone really was willing to see it with me. Well, they should all feel ashamed of themselves because it was an adorable film. Funny, cute and just wonderful. I'm ready for Christmas cheer now, if anyone was wondering.
I've also deleted my Facebook again. I was skyping with my friend Stephanie when I went through and deleted even more people from FB. I was down to about 50 or something. And then earlier today I was just staring at my page and thinking 'What is even the point?' And honestly, what is the point? So yeah, I just deleted it. I don't remember why I un-deleted it in the first place. Was it because I was leaving school and wanted to keep in contact with people? Whoops. They'll understand. Hopefully.

Woo! You mentioned me in your blog!! And I'll miss your face on facebook. And I'm glad that the way to Colleen's heart is through her stomach. Either that or going out drinking/smoking with her! I prefer the first...just sayin. I think you'd be an angry drunk...or a REALLY funny drunk. So maybe consider it. Ok long comment.
